Late September, 2017, the team would receive their first C&D over their inclusion of Total Drama Island content from rights holder FreshTV. This aspect would eventually bite them in the ass twice in the following years, leading to the game’s demise. People on the forum would also sperg out about copyright as, surprise, surprise, this entire game was being developed with no knowledge on CN’s part, even though many devs claimed they got permissions. This activity would eventually bring copyright down. These would include new screenshots revealing parts of the game. The team would also copy Smash by hosting Pic of the Days reminiscent of Sakurai's famous Miiverse posts. Most newcomers were YouTube people such as The Magic Dealer. There would be a sign up to be part of the team, which seems to lead nowhere as I don’t think anyone joined. Apparently this game has tons of lore, and they make sure every addition fits the autistic story of CN characters fighting aliens.įorum users could also volunteer to be part of the development since programmers were a rarity. Another common occurrence was lore keeping. A certain user named Indes would be the chief of bad ideas when he suggested crafting and other things in 2020. People would also shoot up tons of ideas for features to be implemented, many of which were obviously not possible. Prime targets of wrath were always Ben 10, The PowerPuff Girls, and Adventure Time because they apparently housed too many characters in the game. Many on there did the standard gatekeeping, where certain franchises were bad while others good ect. These forums got popular primarily in 2016 and housed a fanbase reminiscent of Smash. Going off my own pure memory, it was terrible, as to be expected from a group of adults harboring around a children’s game based on children’s shows. This would later split into two projects, Legacy, which was a reimagining with new additions such as characters, franchises, and locations, and Retro, which was original, pre-2010 FusionFall in its purest state.Ī now completely inaccessible part of the community, the forums housed a fanbase that can get in on the development cycle. FusionFall Legacy - FusionFall re-imaged with original content & new Unity engine. FusionFall Retro - Unofficial reboot aiming to recreate Jan 2010-era FusionFall. On February 6th of 2015, Devan would gather up a small group to rebuild FusionFall. FusionFall Legacy is a fan re-imaged version of FusionFall built on a newer version of the Unity engine and with original content, upgraded grpahics, and so on. Throughout the year, new Nanos would be added both in missions and by code.Īugust 29th, marked the shut down of FF servers, and the beginning of a community effort to restore the now defunct game.įan, Devan Baker, also known as Wilttilt, would gather friends and build a demo/ revival campaign to continue the game, but the proposition was rejected. In its place was an Academy phase that placed emphasis on newer shows such as Ben 10 and Generator Rex, so that they would have a bigger impact on the story. Now the beginning section of being in the Future was removed. In February 2011, the game received one last massive overhaul in the form of the Academy. New missions based on Adventure Time, Ben 10, and Chowder were added in 2010.
